Each week during the 2009 season, we’ll get the opinions and predictions from a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They’ll share their thoughts on the top three games of the week and run down all of the other NFL games on the schedule.

THIS WEEK’S HALL OF FAMER: JOE DeLAMIELLURE, Class of 2003
A former first round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills in 1973, Joe DeLamielleure became one of the most dominating guards of all-time during his career with Buffalo (1973-79, 1985) and the Cleveland Browns (1980-84). He was named All-Pro six straight seasons and also named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1970s.

Today, he remains involved with the Bills through his association with the Seneca-Niagara Casino. He hosts a booth at every Bills home game at Ralph Wilson Stadium and will be on hand Sunday for the Bills-Texans game. On Monday, he flies down to Mexico to finish a piece that CBS is doing for its Super Bowl show about how Joe and two college teammates biked last fall from East Lansing, Michigan to Mexico to raise money for an orphanage. He blogged his trip on Profootballhof.com. Read Joe’s travel blog.

And now, here is….

Joe’s “Hall of Fame” picks of the week.

Bronzed Bust
Minnesota at Green Bay. I really like Brett Favre. I get a kick out of how everyone was criticizing Brett for coming out of retirement. I think any player who can still be playing like he’s playing would do the same thing. I’ve been kind of pulling for that guy. I can’t think of a single player from my era who I’ve talked to that wouldn’t want to be a teammate of Brett Favre. But, as much I’m hoping he wins, I’m going with Green Bay at home Sunday.

I'd take Brett Favre as a teammate any day!

Gold Jacket
Denver at Baltimore. We will see just how good Denver is offensively against the Ravens defense. It’ll be an interesting game for sure. I really like Joe Flacco. I’m also a big fan of Ray Rice. He’s a tough kid and also catches the ball real well. He’s a type of runner that reminds me of Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, and Gregg Pruitt. I kind of like favorite players in the NFL today and really like a guy like Rice. I’m taking the Ravens.

Hall of Fame Ring
Atlanta at New Orleans. Everyone’s hyped up about the Saints. But, I think Atlanta is going to beat them. The Falcons have a better defense and I really like Matt Ryan at quarterback. He’s a Boston College product so he must be a good Catholic kid!  Like I said, I’m going with Matt and the Falcons.

As for the other games of the weekend, here’s my rundown.

The Giants will beat the Eagles
Jets over the Dolphins
Colts at home over San Francisco
A tough one but I like Detroit over the Rams
Seattle will win in Dallas
Buffalo over Houston
The Bears will win against Cleveland
San Diego over Oakland
The Jaguars will take care of Tennessee
Arizona over Carolina
