Charley Taylor picks Week 11

THIS WEEK’S HALL OF FAMER: Charley Taylor, Class of 1984
The Washington Redskins drafted Charley Taylor in the first round of the 1964 NFL Draft. He started his career at running back before he was switched to wide receiver. An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Charley starred for Washington through the 1977 season at which time he retired as the NFL’s all-time leading receiver with 649 receptions for more than 9,000 yards and 79 touchdowns.

Today, he still lives in the Washington, D.C. area and notes that many of his former teammates also reside in the D.C./Northern Virginia region. In his own words, Charley continues to bleed “burgundy and gold.” He attends as many Redskins games as his schedule permits.

Charley’s “Hall of Fame” picks for Week 11

Washington at Dallas. This is a game you know I’m definitely going to watch. I think the Redskins are going to matchup pretty good with Dallas. Tony Romo is going through a phase and with a quarterback struggling, the Redskins will be ready to go after him. I’d say the Washington defense is going to be fired up.

I also like the Redskins running game. Having Portis out and replaced by a pair of young runners like Ladell Betts and Rock Cartwright will work out well. After all, that’s Redskins football all along, just running the ball and pounding away. I’ve got to go with Washington this weekend.

Gold Jacket
Seattle at Minnesota. Quite simply, I like Brett. I like to see him play. And, as long as he can keep it going like’s been doing, the Vikings are going to be alright. I also happen to think that Adrian Peterson is up for a big day. I look for him to rack up about 200 yards rushing against Seattle. Minnesota’s my pick in this one.

Hall of Fame Ring
Indianapolis at Baltimore. If the Ravens can keep the ball out of Manning’s hands, they might stand a chance. But, I don’t see that happening. Peyton plays with just so much confidence. I think he’s going to run up the score against Baltimore’s pass defense. I like the Colts.

And, here’s who else I like this weekend in the NFL.

I’m going with Carolina over Miami
I’ve got to go with Jacksonville to beat the Bills
This is a tough one but I’m going with Green Bay at home over the 49ers
Take your pick on the Browns vs. Lions but I guess I’ll go with Cleveland
Steelers over the Chiefs
Giants at home against Atlanta
I’m definitely going with the Saints to beat Tampa Bay
I like the Cardinals over the Rams
Denver will win at home against the Chargers
New England won’t go for it on 4th-and-2 but they will beat the Jets
Cincinnati’s on a roll and will take care of Oakland
I’m going with the Eagles over the Bears
and I’m taking Tennessee on the road against Houston on Monday night.
