Brett Favre and Bart Starr Share a Special Bond
Brett Favre has always admired Gold Jacket and legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr. He acknowledges that Starr helped pave the way for him and set the standard high for playing quarterback in Green Bay.
The pair connected and formed a special bond over the years. They have more in common than winning Super Bowls and breaking passing records. They have a mutual respect for each other.
“Amazing guy, amazing career here, an icon for so many,” Favre said about Starr.
Starr’s wife Cherry told a story to WDJT, a CBS affiliate in Milwaukee, about a magical moment her husband and Favre shared during Favre’s jersey retirement.
"He looked up at Brett, and Brett looked down at him, he looked up and he said I love you, Brett. And Brett looked down with tears in his eyes and said I love you too, Bart. It was the sweetest moment."
Starr and Cherry hope to make it to Canton this August to see Favre formally Enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
“We'll probably be in tears, we'll be so happy for Brett and for Deanna and his family,” explained Cherry.
