I USED TO LIVE FOR COMING TO THE HOF AND GETTING THE PLAYERS AUTOGRAPHS. NOW IT TURNS MY STOMACH TO SEE HOW OVER PRICED THAT THE COMMON MAN CAN'T AFFORD TO GET THE AUTOGRAPHS, LET ALONE GET AUTOGRAPHS FOR THE KIDS. THANKS FOR TOTOALLY SCREWING THIS UP. HORRIBLE, SINCE I HAVEN'T BEEN BACK TO THE HOF. SO MUCH FOR THE FAN. NICE JOB FOR THE FAN APPRECIATION ?? FOR $60 , I CAN HAVE A COUPE DRINKS AND EAT A COUPLE HAMBURGERS, THAT'S REALLY SHOWING THE FAN LOVE. HOF HAS LOST TOUCH WITH THE FANS, THE COMMAN MAN AND THE COMMUNITY- WAY TO GO!!!!!

This was my first NFL game as well as enshrinement, I had a great time, but wanted to get an autograph from Emmitt Smith and could not believe the prices. I traveled 650 miles to see them in real life and not on T.v.and one thing stuck in my head the night of the enshrinement, they said it was for the fan`s. Well have a hard time believing that today, but will get over it. To the Football Hall of Fame, make the prices reasonable for the fans that don`t make triple digits and that travel long distances to on a small budget to be there. Well besides the autograph's I had a blast at the tailgate party before the game.

Mike, that is for this year only because it was Smith and Rice.I bet anything that the autograph tickets next year will be cheaper and if they are not that not many people will buy.As far as free autographs that most certainly is not in the past as you said. You can get several of them to sign as long as you get them away from those greedy people at the HOF.Like I said before those people are greedy and want everything for themselves.I seen one guy who was working there give away a whole stack of tickets to the enshrinement to his buddies. This thing is for HOF people. They don't want any average Joe to get close to those guys.It is a joke now.

As far as I'm concerned the whole Hall of Fame week celebration has been ruined. I've quit attending anything. The fun of the rib fest was being able to sample ribs from the various vendors, a buck a bone. Now you are forced to buy a larger amount at most, having to spend 3 - $6 for a sample. So, then you can't sample as many. And having it out the fairgrounds is terrible. Took well over an hour just to get into the parking lot in the evening the last time I attended. It needs to go back downtown. They used to have the parade go to the HOF and then the induction would follow on the steps. Fans and former players stood together shoulder to shoulder watching the induction of the new enshrinees. Now there is no contact and you watch from afar in a stadium. Autograph sessions were free. Now you have to pay an outrageous price. The whole ceremony/game has been dragged out over several days to squeeze out every last dime. This has become nothing but a greed fest and I want no more to do with it. What a shame. Something that was nice that we in Canton could take pride in has turned into this.

well iam reporting on the hof weekend and all i can say is the hof and the autograph sessions made a million bucks this weekend. every session was sold out including the 500 session on sunday, the line to get into the tent to buy merchandise was long and the line to buy t shirts and stuff was evan longer. people have wrote on here on how they got free autographs in the past, well let me tell you it is in the past,i was there all day on saturday and i didnt even see any hofers let alone get any autographs. we complain on here but thousands of people were there buying the 250.00 autographs of emmitt smith, the 169.00 autos of jerry rice and all of the other sessions.

I have been going to the HOF festivities for the past 10 years. This is absolutely the worst I have ever seen it.The HOF people who volunteer were complete jerks to my son who was just trying to get an autograph. The Mounted Memories prices were way too high for us and in years past a kid could get close to a lot of the old timers who really enjoy just taking a picture with children. This year they had it set up so you could not even get near these guys. They have taken away the fans access to these men. This is supposed to be all about the fans.We are the ones who pay for clothes with the NFL shield on it or pay for a team logo.We pay admission to the HOF and that helps pay Mr. Horrigan's salary. The whole setup was a disaster this year.My son was almost ran over by one of those silly golf carts because they just fly around and don't care who they have to move.Wake up HOF people because you can't block off everything for every person. You people are simply trying to block off way too much space and someone is going to get killed and then you will have a lawsuit on your hands. Please do something before that happens. You have way overpriced your tickets to the enshrinement itself.Whatever happened to the steps of the hall and seeing it for free. You people just keep getting greedier and greedier. That is apparent to everyone. You are going to make it where the regular working fan cannot afford it.You are ruining it for a lot of people. Why the greed??Let the kids have access to some of the greats of the game before they all die off.Joe Corrigan-you need to be responsible in your position and do something before it is too late. You and your staff are killing the HOF.Please listen to all these comments and see for yourself. You need to change things before next year.Be proud of yourself and just do it.

I couldn't justify the other costs. This is what will ensure ruin of the game. Along with Big Ben, Ochostinko, Popcorn Owens and Wince Young. Glad my son is 18 and can figure ou all the crap for himself. Hopefully his collegiate football career will provide enough football so he doesn't have to follow the rich and famous.

I have taken my son to autograph sessions since he was 5 when I moved to canton. He is now 11. I buy him a hof mini helmet each year to obtain autos for the memories. The last two years I visit the malls where hofers are signing because the price is for the working class and the shows are put on by the local working class that need business to stay viable. I refuse to pay the outrageous prices the hof president sets up with the formats. Since he came about 3 years ago the working class that supports the hof can't afford his upper echelon activities. The hof has lost about $1000 from me and my family easily each year. President needs to think of us average working folks. Wake up president.

I just called and they are not even putting the Mounted Memories holograms on things to prove authenticity or the signed item. The little ticket they give you is supposed to be enough. They do not have any idea if the Jerry Rice Hologram will be attached or not or if any of the other members who have a hologram will be attaching one. When you go to a Card show and get their autographs, you get a hologram and COA at least for the item you paid so much to get signed. This is a crock of you know what! Mounted Memories it putting this on and yet they REFUSE to put on THEIR OWN HOLOGRAM for this at the VERY LEAST to certify the authenticity to display with the items we get signed. All we get is a crappy little ticket saying we were there and got something signed. If they do a Mall or Private signingthey put their hologram on things so why can they not do it at the HOF signing? Seems to me like they are trying to run a scam and screw the buyers of these over priced autographs, ESPECIALLY EMMITT SMITH!

But with that said, I agree with just about everyone who has posted comments on here (Which 95% have been deleted)… that these prices are just getting out of control!... I mean I can even understand Jerry Rice's prices... but I look at Emmitt Smith’s prices & I cant even wrap my mind around it… & just for a heads up, Tom Brady & Peyton Manning charge DOUBLE what Emmitt Smith does :(… so I guess I better start saving NOW for their HOF class's :(

When i came on here just now to check out the times and costs my heart dropped that i would have to give up a weeks paycheck to get the greatest running backs and personal favorite players autograph, This ****makes me sick i understand if they want to make money on their name, but come on the real working fan cant afford that! I don't even want the autograph to sale and make money off it, I'm a die hard cowboy fan and would want to be buried with that helmet before i would sell it, BUT I GUESS IT NEVER WILL HAPPEN!!!!!!!!

Reply to Camille, Thanks for the info. After doing some my research on my own I did find out that he had canceled at the national for heath reasons. It 's a shame that I had to rely on a different promoter (Tri star) to find out Mr. Butkus had some health concerns. I pray that he is o.k. and it is nothing serious. It is disappointing because Mr Butkus was my childhood hero. I have always wanted to meet him and this was going to be my opportunity. My father passed when I was seven, and even though he was a browns fan, he would always let me watch Mr Butkus play as much as possible. It was one of those special times we shared. I am in no way upset with Mr. Butkus, my angry is directed towards Mounted Memories and their lack of customer service. They never did respond to my many emails. I finally got a hold of them by phone about Mr Butkus canceling and they told my refunds were issued on July 22nd. Still waiting on my. My message to the HOF would be if you want to keep the fans, you may want to switch promoters.

After seeing the prices, however, I think I will not be making the trip, and if I do, it will be just to visit and walk through the hall again. The NFL screws the normal fan every time there is something special- HOF, Superbowl (try to get tickets for that). Shame on the NFL, not the players. This should be a time of celebration for excellent career achievements.

There is no need for a 200-400 price. Its just crazy. I missed out a few years ago on my favorite player Barry Sanders cause the price was way to high and I can not afford that. Terry, I also miss the Topps autograph tents where you could get 10-12 HOF'ers for $100. Many are old-timers who counted on that for income! You can barely get one autograph now for what used to buy you a dozen; for shame, Hall of Fame! Also, I agree with Max Moxie; go downtown to the player's hotel. The best I ever got there were Mean Joe Green & Eric Dickerson.

  • Terry - July 20 2010 09:29 AM

When is the Hall going to come to it's senses? Before they let "Mounted Memories" take over, there would be 2 to 3 large tents set up in the parking lot and a fan could buy one ticket for $100 and get 12 to 15 autographs at each tent...and if you timed it right you might be able to meet and get autographs from 30+ HOFer's for $200! What happened?...who got greedy? Sure, there probably were some "fans" who turned around and tried to make a quick buck on ebay, but the great majority of the people that I saw, standing in long lines waiting to meet their heroes...were simply real football fans. Do the players, the Hall of Fame and Mounted Memories realize how this economy has hurt people...what ever happened to "giving back" a little...I think it would be better not to have any signings at all, than to belittle an Emmit Smith fan by asking for $418.00 so Mr. Smith could put "Emmit Smith HOF" on an 8"x10". The Hall of Fame weekend should be a celebration of the players and their fans...it should be about inclusion...not exclusion, based on some outrageous pricing structure dreamed up by some marketing guy who probably doesn't even like football. I sincerly hope that the Hall reads these posts and quickly puts an end to this unnecessary and embarrassing situation.

This is for Donald Downs. Don, don't pay for any of those signatures. Every year, I went to the Hall, I would go to the player's hotel in downtown Canton. I've gotten Joe Namath, Fred Biletnikoff, John Stallworth, Franco Harris, Randy White, and countless other Hall of Famers. You may not get Emmitt Smith, but if you had any chance to get him for free....it would be there. Also, many HOFers hang out behind the Hall when the enshrinement is going on. You have a great chance to get anyone back there when they are taking a smoke break......Hope this helps..... Max

In todays economy there is no way I can justify paying $300.00 for one signature. I have a full size helmet with all of the members in the Hof signed on it. I figured I could keep coming every year and keep it current. I guess that will not happen now. Please let me know if you come down on the price for the average fan. Just wish I could keep these memories alive. Don
