Highlighting the day-long recognition of our veterans and active military will be a special ceremony that is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Hall of Fame’s NFL Films Theater.

Colonel (Dr.) Kulper, a 26-year Army Reserve veteran has been added as a featured speaker at the Pro Football Hall of Fame's eleventh annual Salute to Veterans, Celebrating Our Nation's Heroes: A Tribute to Veterans and Active Duty Military on Saturday, Nov. 5. The Hall of Fame is partnering with the U.S. Army in the day-long observance of Veterans Day.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Andy Russell who was originally scheduled to speak at the event is unable to do so due to a death in the family.
Colonel Kulper, whose unit of assignment is Command Surgeon 99th Regional Support Command; Fort Dix, New Jersey, is the recipient of numerous decorations including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6), Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2), Afghanistan Campaign, Kosovo Campaign, GWOT Service, and National Defense Service. His overseas deployments have included tours of duty in Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Germany. As a civilian he is in primary care internal medicine practice with Trumbull Mahoning Medical Group in Warren, Ohio and a wound care physician with the Wound Healing Center at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Scheduled to begin at 10 AM in the Hall of Fame's NFL Films Theater, the ceremony will open with the singing of the National Anthem and the presentation of the colors by a special honor guard representing each of the different branches of military. There will also be a special tribute to 1st Lt. Ashley White, a graduate of Marlington High School and Kent State University, and Sgt. Daniel J. Patron, a 2003 Perry High School graduate, both of whom recently died while serving in Afghanistan.
As a part of the day-long event, veterans, members of Gold Star Families or Blue Star Mothers, active duty members of the armed forces and a guest will be admitted free of charge to the Hall of Fame and receive a 10% discount in the Hall of Fame Store. All museum visitors will receive a specially created commemorative Pro Football Hall of Fame/American flag pin in honor of our nation's heroes.
Attendees are encouraged to bring items to donate to the USO Care Package program. The most needed items include batteries, travel size men's shaving cream, dryer sheets, puzzle books, bug spray, sunscreen, playing cards and toilet paper.
Celebrating Our Nation's Heroes: A Tribute to Veterans and Members of Our Active Military is one of many special events held by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
