The jersey, helmet, shoulder pads, and socks worn by quarterback Brett Favre when he became the NFL’s all-time passing yardage leader arrived in Canton shortly after the completion of his record-setting moments in 2007.
Favre’s uniform is the one that the Green Bay Packers quarterback wore on December 16, 2007 against the St. Louis Rams when surpassed Hall of Famer Dan Marino’s career yardage total. The uniform will be placed on display next to the football that Favre threw on September 30, 2007 for his record-setting 421st career touchdown. [Related story: Favre’s record ball comes to Canton]. It joined the jersey that Favre wore on November 7, 1999 when he started his 117th straight game at quarterback. He extended that streak to an amazing 253 consecutive starts (275 including the post-season).
The league’s only three-time MVP finished his final season in Green Bay as the all-time leader in all four major passing categories – touchdowns (442), completions (5,377), attempts (8,758) and yards (61,655). He added to those totals in 2008 with the New York Jets.
