"Immaculate Reception" turf

This piece of the Tartan Turf is from the exact spot that Franco Harris caught the "Immaculate Reception" in the closing seconds of the 1972 AFC Divisional Playoff Game on Dec. 23, 1972.

Harris studied newspaper accounts and photos to pinpoint the exact location in which he made the famous catch.  Upon hearing that the playing surface was being replaced in the stadium he wanted a souvenir.

Harris made a trip to Three Rivers Stadium and again timed the play perfectly.  As he arrived, crews were tearing out the old turf nearing the location that helped make Harris a household name.
