Johnson rushes for 2,000 yards

01/04/2010

Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson became the sixth player in National Football League history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season. He finished out the 2009 NFL season in record-setting fashion by rushing for 134 yards to bring his season total to 2,006 yards and allowed him to join an elite group of runners who’ve reached the milestone mark.

Johnson also set the NFL’s single-season mark for total yards from scrimmage earlier in the Titans’ 17-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks in the season finale on Jan. 3, 2010. The second-year running back had 503 receiving yards in 2009 that brought his season total of scrimmage yards to a record 2,509 scrimmage yards. He eclipsed the 2,429 yards registered by Marshall Faulk in 1999.

Here is the game-by-game rushing total for Johnson and the breakdown of the five other 2,000-yard seasons.
