Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was voted the 2012 Associated Press Most Valuable Player. He won the NFL’s rushing crown as he gained 2,097 yards to become the seventh player ever to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark. His offensive output helped the Vikings incredible turnaround from a 3-13 record in 2011 to a 10-6 finish and playoff berth in 2012.

Peterson’s uniform from the 2012 season was sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and arrived at the museum on Monday. It will go on display in the Pro Football Today Gallery in an exhibit featuring recent MVP players such as Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers.

The Vikings runner averaged a robust 6.0 yards per carry in 2012 and fell just nine yards shy of Eric Dickerson’s record of 2,105 yards established d in 1984. Peterson tied Hall of Famer Earl Campbell for the most 150-yard games in a season (seven).
