All right, enough is enough! This is Tommy's mom. I am a mother of 3 and the finger pointing that the adults are doing is no different than my day to day life with my children. Has anyone considered that the voting with fake emails, duplications, etc was done by others that were not the contestants themselves? I just read through the board that "Z" posted. I saw it right off the bat where not just 1 but 2 individuals posted how to "cheat". Just as the Scott's are saying that someone other than themselves posted for them, you can't control what others do. I posted under our photo that we were aware of "how" to vote this way but had chosen NOT to. My husband posted the link to that fan board & what others posted after him are not within our control. Just as the one Scott brother said "he worked hard getting votes" I'm certain that his methods were similar in posting to fan boards & once he posted it, he was on to the next. He didn't have time to monitor each one to see if everyone was playing fair. I'm certain that the HOF is so fed up with every single person involved that they will cancel the contest entirely & not award anyone. That is also in the rules that they have that right. It's a shame. Our photo was taken at the HOF for the "Day with Dad". It was a special day, the photo was taken entirely at random when my sweet little boy wandered over to gaze up at the flying Elvis he has come to recognize as fun in our home. And now I'll never be able to look at the pics without being reminded of the ugliness that occured over this contest. I implore each of you to stop finger pointing, let the HOF review the legitimacy of the voting & the involvement of the actual contestants & that we all act like grown ups when their decision is made.

On that link that Z posted look on the bottom of page 3 it says (copied and pasted) "Just wanted to let you guys know (well, those who don't know anyway as it's pretty simple) that you can type fake email addresses into the address field. I just voted a few more times with addresses such as "dfisdfh@gmail.com". and this on the Top of page 5 ":You guys can vote multiple times by deleting your cookies and then putting in a fake email address btw" and this is from page 2 "already voted twice. Once from home, once from work" and that link again is http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/723458-my-son-tommy-finalist-represent-all-patriots-fans-please-vote-page3.html.

  • Still don't see it - January 12 2011 10:06 PM

I keep looking at the link that z posted and I don't see where anyone entered in this contest said to cheat and vote more than once. However, I have seen where the week 11 contestants have told others to vote more than once and the Hall of Fame has also seen that. We can only control our own actions on the internet. It is a crazy place out there. And Week 11 promoted breaking the rules plain and simple. I am sure I can search blogs and forums and find Steeler fans doing the same thing but that doesn't matter. What does matter is what the actual people entered in the contest were doing. And the Week 11 contestants were cheating. So dry those tears with that yellow towel because you will be sitting in PA watching Brady hoist the Lombardi trophy.

check this out.... http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/723458-my-son-tommy-finalist-represent-all-patriots-fans-please-vote-page3.html. This was the night they started winning the Bilichick way. If you read further into the post it will tell you how to cheat even more. Got to love the internet. And you still want to talk about posting how to cheat on your post???? Maybe you should have videotaped them as the contest went on, oh wait you have tried that before. Just quit your complaining as the Steelers fans got the most votes, just like they are going to get the most points in Dallas at the bowl. You should use little Tommy's pacifier so we do not have to hear you complain anymore.

  • Ridiculous - January 12 2011 02:46 PM

"Don't Pack Your Bags" where exactly are you getting your evidence those Pittsburgh boys. I seem to remember an old adage about not believing everything you hear, or in this case that is written. Why would these adult men say on THEIR OWN comment wall that they had cheated and there was a "glitch?" Why would anyone blatently say they are cheating on the website for the contest they are entering? There's no common sense in that and those that posted those lies are the ones that have to live with that guilt. And if there actually was a "glitch" don't you think others would have found that out and done the same thing... They absolutely would have. So maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't make accusations (and potentially ruin an actual fair win) against someone until the facts are clear. I'm sure the HOF had a fair system as they've done this before, and since that's the case all of you naysayers are ruining something that should be special!

The rules clearly state: (d) Limit one (1) vote per person, verified by email address login and correlating user IP address. Not only did you vote multiple times for yourself, you also told your supporters to vote multiple times using different email addresses. That is a clear violation of the rules stated above. Maybe you need to look up the definition of cheating because you, my friends, cheated plain and simple. The Pro Football Hall of Fame has the right to make any decision including cancelling the contest. There is no way you will receive the trip so you can give up the victim act. We aren't buying it.

Everyone keeps talking about sportsmanship. Im week 11, the whole time people bashed us, lied about us, forged our names, says we cheated. I worked my butt off for weeks on working to get votes. My brother and I didn't cheat and we deserve to go on that trip, we worked for it. Its sad how the majority of people act just because you didn't win. Get over it. Every vote is being counted legitimatly by the HOF. Grow Up, you make this contest not fun and they probably won't have it anymore because you don't know how to act.

In the name of sportsmanship, the Week 11 contestants never posted ANY commments on their own page or anyone elses, with the exception of how to vote. Someone used my name on my own page and wrote things that were not true, this can be verified by IP and e-mail. The week 11 contestants never wrote ANYTHING on anyone else page. Again this can be verified by IP and e-mail. Our votes were garnered fair and square will help from Steeler Nation. We had a game plan going in and we were well prepared and organized. So before you go posting things that are not true get your facts straight!!!

I agree with the last comment. Not only that, but that entry went onto another page and was crying foul, saying that others were cheating, and that an entry be disqualified for using a child in the picture was against the rules. Clearly, this/these person/persons do not envoke any "sportsmanship", a virtue the HOF hangs it's hat on. It was pretty disgusting behavior, and I hope that entry is not rewarded for how they acted in this competition.

This contest was meant to be for fun and as with any contest there is always a level of competition. However, surprisingly, participants forgot that to truely be a winner, cheating is not an option! I am a huge football fan and I am very disappointed in how this contest turned out. I plead with you to review all the entrants and how they participated in the final voting process before awarding the grand prize. The entree who was blatantly cheating bragged about it within comments on his own picture page. Please look into this before closing this contest completely. I feel the integrity of the Pro Football HOF and any future contests will be reflected in your final decision. Thank you.

  • Voting flaw - January 10 2011 12:28 PM

I believe you need to look into the system you are using to vote. It states in the rules 1 vote per person per IP address. But if you seperate all the email's with a comma, you can enter hundreds of emails per IP address. So anyone can change their IP address on their computer and vote as many times as they want. This is how there are huge surges overnight for week 11. The contest should be held again Next week with a confirmation email being sent to the sender and they have to click a link to make the vote count. And fix the glitch of puting more than one email in the provided space. Thank you.

To JC. Actually the rules that you printed were from last years contest that ended in Jan. 2010. I saw those also. But if you clicked the picture in the top left corner of the main page with the Steelers fans, those are the rules for this year. I submitted two photos week 1 (In Sept) following both the rules and they picked my picture from the "Bust" room. I agree they should have deleted the rules from last year. Hope this helps.

I printed copy of the official rules on 12/20/2010 and you have CHANGED them. That is NOT right. This week's finalist and several of the other week's finalist pictures were not taken in the Lamar Hunt Gallery. ORIGINAL Official Contest Rules stated: "b. Take your photograph inside the Pro Football Hall of Fame Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery." CHANGED Official Contest Rules now state: "b. Take your photograph inside the Pro Football Hall of Fame or on the Pro Football Hall of Fame's grounds at 2121 George Halas Dr. NW, Canton, Ohio 44708" What's up with this? Many of your finalists did not follow the ORIGINAL Official Contests Rules and they should be disqualified and someone from their week's submissions should be selected to be that week's finalist. I am considering notifying the media because I suspect that someone affiliated with the Pro Football Hall of Fame had family or friends that they wanted to be a weekly finalist. The media may want to investigate and the public should know that the rules have changed. I expect a reply by 5pm Monday, 12/03/2011.
