Severe Weather Plan

Media should be aware that the Pro Football Hall of Fame has a detailed plan created in the event of inclement weather during the Enshrinement ceremony.

All efforts will be made to keep the enshrinement on schedule in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The ceremony will proceed even in the case of rain. If severe weather occurs, the Enshrinement would be delayed.

In an extreme case of severe weather, the ceremony would be relocated to the Umstaddt Performing Arts Hall at McKinley High School. There is very limited space for guests and media.

Should this occur we ask the media’s utmost cooperation in following the instructions that will be relayed at that time. Those media on the floor of the stadium should move to either the McKinley Field House or the Media Center which is also located inside McKinley High School.

All media in the press box should remain in that location.

A feed of the Enshrinement ceremony will be provided to all of these areas.

Access to the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Any media may enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame during our normal operating hours by presenting a media credential. There is a separate media entrance located to the right of the main lobby starting on Wednesday, August 2.

You do not need to check in with the Hall of Fame’s Communications Department. Media are welcome to shoot B-Roll and do stand-ups but must be self-contained. Any live shots or other special needs for shooting inside the building need to be coordinated through a member of the Hall of Fame’s Communications team.

Space for remote broadcast may be arranged by contacting a member of the Hall of Fame's Communication team.

Enshrinement Transcripts

Written transcripts of the 2017 Enshrinement Ceremony speeches will not be provided. Audio files of the speeches will be posted on the Hall's media site.

Pool Feeds for Enshrinement

Audio mult-box will be located near the Radio/TV media area located on the floor level.

For those who can't take embedded audio, there will be 12 XLR audio outputs available on the same press bridge.

Photographers Workroom (Hall of Fame Game and Enshrinement Ceremony)

A Photographers workroom is available for credentialed still photographers and videographers at the Hall of Fame Game and Enshrinement. The entrance to the workroom is located on the field level of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium at the southwest corner of the end zone (opposite I-77). Signage will be posted throughout the stadium, directing media to this area. Wi-Fi and power is provided in the workroom.

Enshrinement Photo Work Areas

Photographers and Videographers must remain in the outside perimeters of the stadium floor during the Enshrinement. At no time, may Photographers and Videographers enter the seating areas on the floor.

A photo deck for still photographers only is located at the front of house for the Enshrinement. The deck is positioned for a direct angle of the podium on stage. The distance from deck to stage is approximately 50 yards.

Back Stage Photo Op

After each enshrinee finishes his Enshrinement speech, he will be escorted to a stage directly behind the main stage where he will pose with his Hall of Fame Bronzed Bust and his presenter. There are no interview opportunities in this area. Signage will be posted throughout the stadium, directing photographers and videographers to this area. The entire Class of 2017 will pose for one final shot at the conclusion of the Enshrinement.

Phone/Internet/Wireless

Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and the Media Center inside McKinley High School have wireless internet access. Use of wireless internet is done at the user's own risk.  Viruses, content, and popups will not be filtered or monitored.

The Media Center and Press Box are equipped with wireless. Any individuals who need guaranteed bandwidth speed to transfer large amounts of data should consider purchasing an isolated line through AT&T.

Internet service for general browsing and web access is provided inside Remote Broadcast Area. If you are in need of an Internet connection to stream broadcasts or have specific requirements such as VPN, you will need to purchase a line through AT&T.

Enshrinement Photo Area will have wireless internet access. Due to the high number of outlets utilizing the services at the same time, bandwidth speed could be slowed significantly at times. Any organizations concerned about this issue may want to consider purchasing an isolated line through AT&T.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame coordinates with AT&T to assure the proper location for installation based on the credentials that you have been issued.
