Receiving yards records by team

Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns and  Alshon Jeffery of the Chicago Bears both set franchise record for receiving yards in a game during their Week 13 matchups. Coincidentally, both broke their own records from earlier in the 2013 season. Gordon initially established the Browns record when he caught 14 passes for 237 yards during a Week 12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. One week later Gordon became the first player in NFL history to have 200 yards in consecutive games when he bested his previous mark with 10 receptions for 261 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns.

Jeffery’s also put on a show in Week 13 catching 12 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns during an overtime loss to division rival Minnesota Vikings. The second-year pro originally set the Bears single-game receiving record in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints when he grabbed 10 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown.

This marks the fifth time this season, and eighth in the past two years, that a player has established a new team single-game mark for receiving yards.

Calvin Johnson shattered the Detroit Lions’ single-game receiving yardage mark in his team’s exciting 31-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 27, 2013. His 329 yards receiving marked the second highest single-game yardage total in NFL history

Three marks were established in 2012. Brian Hartline had 253 yards receiving in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals to set the new Miami Dolphins record for receiving yards in a game. Vincent Jackson set the Tampa Bay Buccaneers record with 216 yards on seven catches against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 21, 2012. And, Andre Johnson of the Houston Texans broke his own mark when he racked up 273 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 18, 2012.

Here is the complete list of record holders for each of the 32 NFL clubs. (Updated through Dec. 2, 2013).
