Bob Waterfield burst onto the NFL scene in 1945 when he became the first rookie in history to win the league's  Most Valuable Player award after leading the Rams to a league title.  Waterfield led the Rams to an additional three straight title games, claiming a 24-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns in 1951.  

The versatile Waterfield was an ace defensive back for the first four years of his careeer as well as a top punter and an accurate place kicker.   

A jersey (yellow with blue number 7) worn by Waterfield in the 1950's can bee seen on display in the Hall's Exhibition Rotunda.
