Jack Sykes from Barrow-in-Furness, England is the winner of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Predict the Class of 2007 Contest.  As the winner, he will enjoy a $2,500 shopping spree on the Hall’s online store.

HOF_Logo_1_200X200.jpgSykes, 28, saw a link to the contest on NFL.com on Saturday and filled in his entry less than two hours prior to the deadline.  A fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he was excited to see Michael Irvin elected to the Hall of Fame last weekend.  Also a big fan of the NFL in general, he is hopeful of making the seven-hour drive from his home to London to see a historic game at Wembley Stadium next season.  The Miami Dolphins and New York Giants will play in the first NFL regular season game played outside of North America (see related story).

One thing is for sure, Sykes should be well dressed in his favorite NFL apparel for the game after he embarks on his incredible shopping spree in the Hall’s online store.

The contest ran for one week leading up to the announcement of the Class of 2007 – Gene Hickerson, Michael Irvin, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman Thomas, and Roger Wehrli -- on Saturday February 3.  Nearly 9,000 individuals logged on to cast their prediction of the Hall’s newest class.  Aside from participants in all 50 states in the U.S., the contest attracted fans from: American Samoa, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Guam, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Trinidad & Tobago, and many fans - including Sykes - from the United Kingdom
