Dean honored by Chargers

Pro Football Hall of Famer Fred Dean was presented into the Chargers Ring of Honor during an impressive halftime ceremony on Sunday night. Dean was joined on stage by the team’s President & CEO Dean Spanos and Steve Perry, President/Executive Director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Also on hand were several Chargers alum who paid tribute to Dean.

Dean was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past February and then formally enshrined on August 2. The Chargers second round pick in the 1975 NFL Draft, he used his speed, strength and quickness to develop into one of the most devastating pass rushing specialists of his time. He starred with the Chargers through 1981 before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers.
