Edgerrin James jersey and football

History Published on : 1/1/2005

Edgerrin James of the Arizona Cardinals became the 14th player in National Football League history to eclipse the 15,000-yard mark in total yards from scrimmage. He reached the milestone during his team’s 31-10 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 14, 2008 at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The following day, the jersey he wore during the game and the football he carried on the play that he eclipsed the 15,000-yard mark were sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The mementos are now on exhibit in the recently opened Pro Football Today Gallery.

James is the 12th running back to reach that career mark and the only current NFL player to have 15,000 yards from scrimmage.
