Eight HOFers to join in ’12 Kickoff

The National Football League will kick off its 93rd season in grand fashion on Wednesday evening. The NFL will include 32 legendary NFL alumni, one representing each team, as part of their 2012 NFL Kickoff Show at Rockefeller Center®.

Among the group of greats are eight members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame:

Larry Little, G (Miami Dolphins)
Willie Roaf, T (New Orleans Saints)
Willie Brown, CB (Oakland Raiders)
Dermontti Dawson, C (Pittsburgh Steelers)
Jack Youngblood, DE (St. Louis Rams)

In addition, 32 fans will unveil their team’s 2012 season flag as winners of the inaugural NFL Fan Flag Challenge. The contest asked fans to submit designs with elements representative of their team’s city, community, traditions, or its fans. The winner’s inspirational concept was then used to create the team’s flag. The 32 fans will be joined by 32 NFL Legends to unveil their team’s flag.

The 2012 season kicks off on a Wednesday night for the first time in 64 years as the New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys. The game marks the 10th anniversary of the NFL Kickoff continuing the tradition of saluting the Super Bowl champions with the opening game in their stadium in primetime.

NFL Kickoff 2012 will be televised from 7:30-8:30 PM (ET) on NBC and NFL Network.
