Jerry Rice's memorable 1995 season

01/01/2005

Jerry RiceJerry Rice retired after an amazing 20 seasons in the National Football League. His staggering career receiving totals outdistanced any receiver ever to have stepped onto the field.

Perhaps one of the most coveted records Rice owns is the mark for career receptions.

Rice supplanted former Washington Redskins wide receiver Art Monk as the game’s all-time leader in receptions in the final week of the 1995 season. In the regular season finale against the Falcons in Atlanta, Rice hauled in a season-high 12 catches for 153 yards. That performance capped the finest year of Rice’s storied career as he added a career high 122 catches for a record-setting 1,848 yards to his career numbers.
