***Due to weather conditions, the Pro Football Hall of Fame has cancelled tonight's scheduled Meet and Greet Book Signing with former pro football star Marlin Briscoe. Plans are to reschedule the event at a later date.
The African American Pioneers in Pro Football school program scheduled for Thursday morning has not been cancelled.***
On February 14, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. the Pro Football Hall of Fame will host a Meet and Greet Book Signing with former pro football star and African American pioneer Marlin Briscoe.
Briscoe, a Pro Bowl player, made history in 1968 when theDenver Broncos made him the first African American named as a starting quarterback in pro football's modern era. Hear Marlin reflect on the challenges he faced during his sensational career as an African American pioneer, as well as the inspirational story of how he overcame serious and even life-threatening difficulties in his life after football.
Briscoe will be at the Hall to autograph copies of the newly released book Third and A Mile, The Trials and Triumphs of the Black Quarterback which also features Hall of FamersFritz Pollard andWarren Moon. Third and A Mile is available in the Museum Store throughout the month. The Meet and Greet Book Signing is free and open to the public.
