Every year improvements are made to the production of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement Ceremony and surrounding Festival events. This weekend the thousands of fans on hand in Canton, Ohio or watching on television will hear the latest enhancement to the Enshrinement show.

NFL Films has created a new musical score for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. NFL Films President Steve Sabol named the piece “Echoes of Eternity.”

The musical suite written by NFL Films Composer David Robidoux includes four movements titled “Hall of Fame Overture,” “Hall of Fame Theme,” “Hall of Fame History,” and “Hall of Fame Reprise.”

“Echoes of Eternity” was recorded at NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, N.J. using an 80-piece orchestra comprised of top level musicians from the New York and Philadelphia area. It will debut during Friday’s Enshrinees Dinner & Gold Jacket Presentation and also be played for the unveiling of each of the busts during the enshrinement on Saturday evening.

“A theme like this you want to put the listener in the place of the person being enshrined,” commented Robidoux. “It’s about capturing a moment.”

Robidoux had coordinated with the NFL’s Senior Vice President of Events Frank Supovitz to create a theme for the Vince Lombardi Trophy presentation that debuted in 2006 at Super Bowl XL. Supovitz, who works closely with the Hall of Fame, NFL Network, and ESPN to produce the Enshrinement Ceremony, approached Robidoux with the idea of creating a special Hall of Fame theme.

“We sought to create a theme as grand and inspirational as the Hall of Fame Enshrinement itself. Adding this dramatic music to an already incredibly emotional day for the enshrinees and fans we think will further augment the occasion,” stated Supovitz.

The Class of 2011 – Richard Dent, Marshall Faulk, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter, Ed Sabol, Deion Sanders, and Shannon Sharpe – will be officially inducted during the ceremony set for Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. ET.
