NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen will emcee the 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday, August 8. The Enshrinement Ceremony for the Class of 2009 – Bob Hayes, Randall McDaniel, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas, Ralph Wilson, Jr., and Rod Woodson – is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET that evening. Eisen is replacing longtime emcee Chris Berman, who is taking a one-year hiatus in order to serve as the presenter for 2009 Enshrinee Ralph Wilson, Jr.

{GALLERY}Eisen was the first on-air talent added to the NFL Network roster in June 2003. NFL Network launched in November of that same year and is the 24-hour cable and satellite channel dedicated to football.

“I could not be more honored and humbled to be entrusted with such a daunting assignment,” Eisen stated. “I’m honored and humbled because there’s nothing quite like an enshrinement ceremony at the Pro Football Hall of Fame; and daunting, because I’ve been told that if I don’t ‘briskly matriculate the proceedings down the field’ Deacon Jones might ‘slap me in the head.’”

Eisen hosts NFL Total Access, the NFL’s show of record, providing daily news, interviews and analysis from around the league. Each Sunday, he hosts NFL GameDay Final, a show dedicated to giving fans a comprehensive recap of the day’s action with Deion Sanders and Steve Mariucci. Eisen also anchors the three-hour pregame show, NFL Total Access On Location, which airs prior to the NFL Network’s primetime regular-season games, in addition to the network’s Super Bowl, NFL Draft and Combine coverage.

One of television’s most visible anchors and personalities from the past decade, Eisen was a mainstay on ESPN’s SportsCenter from 1996 to 2003.
