Warren Moon and Marlin Briscoe to appear for special program on Feb. 20
The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s celebration of Black History month will be highlighted by a special evening event on Wednesday, February 20 featuring Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon along with Marlin Briscoe, the first African American starting quarterback in the NFL’s modern era.
Moon and Briscoe will take part in two sessions with the public in the Hall of Fame’s NFL Films Theater. The two quarterbacks will talk about their trials and tribulations on and off the football field and share personal stories from their NFL careers before engaging in a brief question-and-answer period.
Then, the duo will be on hand to sign copies of the ESPN Book Third and A Mile, The Trials and Triumphs of the Black Quarterback that features both Moon and Briscoe. Attendees may purchase the book at the Hall of Fame’s Museum store. No outside copies of the book or other items or merchandise will be signed.
A showing of NFL Films’ Black Star Rising, a chronicle of African Americans in the NFL, will also be shown during each of the two sessions that evening. The museum’s hours will be extended for paid guests to tour the Hall of Fame and enjoy the eye-catching exhibits that include the African American Experience in Pro Football exhibit.
The first session takes place at 5:30 p.m. with a repeat session scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Advance reservations are recommended as each session will be limited to the first 300 people. Tickets for the program, which also includes admission to the Hall of Fame, are available for $25 and may be purchased by clicking on the link below or by calling 330-456-8207. Tickets may also be purchased at the Hall of Fame Box Office on the day of the program, based on availability.
