The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced that this year it will provide fans with access to the Hall of Fame Selection Meeting Room as the Selection Committee deliberates on Saturday, February 1, to determine the Class of 2014.

The Hall of Fame has agreed to allow an NFL Network camera into the meeting room during certain portions of the private meeting that will be held in New York City, the day before Super Bowl XLVIII. For the first time ever, fans will have the opportunity to see and hear behind-the-scenes activities including opening remarks from some selectors as they present a finalist for consideration. This exclusive access will bring fans closer to what has historically been a very secretive process. The segments will be shown during hourly updates on NFL Network, beginning at 11 a.m. ET.

“We are pleased to be able to provide pro football and Hall of Fame fans a ‘peek behind the curtain,’” stated David Baker, the Hall of Fame’s President/Executive Director. “We recognize the tremendous public interest in our year-round selection process. This as an opportunity to not only increase fan access but also expand the public’s understanding of the selection process and the unbelievably difficult task the Hall of Fame Selection Committee faces every year.”
