Pro Football Hall of Fame, staff member win local tourism awards

The Pro Football Hall of Fame won two local awards and one of its Private Events staff members was honored during the 2009 Annual Tourism Luncheon held at the museum today.

More than 200 people representing multiple tourism outlets throughout Stark County, Ohio were on hand for the event that took place in the Hall’s event plaza tent. The event is part of the National Tourism Week celebration. Tourism is a $38 billion industry annually in the state of Ohio.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame were finalists for two of the Best of Stark County Awards given out by the Canton-Stark County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Winners were determined by online voting.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame was named the Best Museum and the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game was selected as the county’s Best Sporting Event.

In addition to the awards given to the museum, Private Event Facilitator Stephen Anderson was named the 2009 Outstanding Employee of the Year. Anderson is a member of the Hall’s Private Events staff. Each year, the Hall hosts approximately 200 private events ranging from corporate outings to charitable fundraisers.
