Jonathan Ogden, the first longtime member of the Baltimore Ravens to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be honored by the club on Sunday. Ogden will receive his Hall of Fame ring during a halftime tribute as the Ravens host the New York Jets at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 12 action.

Ogden, who was also the first player ever drafted by the Ravens franchise, becomes the fifth member of the Hall of Fame’s seven-man Class of 2013 to receive his Hall of Fame ring. The Class of 2013 presentations mark the debut of the newly designed Hall of Fame ring.

Former New York Giants coach Bill Parcells received his Hall of Fame ring during Week 2, Dallas Cowboys honored guard Larry Allen on October 13, and the Minnesota Vikings’ Cris Carter and Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Warren Sapp received their rings in Week 10 of the NFL season.

Ogden was formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 3. It was during the enshrinement ceremony held inside Canton’s Fawcett Stadium that he, with help from his presenter Ozzie Newsome (Hall of Fame tight end and Ravens Executive Vice President/General Manager) unveiled the bronze bust that resides permanently in the Hall of Fame. On the eve of that ceremony, Ogden received his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket.

The bust, jacket, and the ring are the three physical icons that represent an individual’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. All three symbols will be displayed during the ring presentation to Ogden on Sunday afternoon. He will wear his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket and his bronze bust will be temporarily removed from the Hall of Fame and shipped to Baltimore for the ring ceremony.

Ogden starred for 12 seasons in Baltimore during which time he earned first-team All-Pro honors six times and was voted to 11 Pro Bowls. He was a leader and vital part of the Baltimore’s Super Bowl XXXV championship team, voted to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 2000s and has been inducted into the Ravens’ Ring of Honor.
