WTAM radio personality Casey Coleman served as emcee for the event which was attended by 150 invited guests.
The 2003 season was a magical one for the Patroits. Not only did the team win their second Super Bowl in three seasons, they ran off a 15-game winning streak which is still intact heading into the 2004 campaign.
"We were on cruise control," commented Vrabel, who was more than happy to recount his team's 2003 Super Bowl run to the Hall of Fame guests. "No one was going to sneak up on the Patriots."
Vrabel had a huge game in Super Bowl XXXVIII, recording four tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, and he scored on a one-yard TD pass from quarterback Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter.
It was quite obvious that the Ohio State alumnus was still euphoric from the season and the Super Bowl. "I can honestly retire after this (past) year and have no regrets about what I did in pro football."
Following the ceremony Vrabel presented Pro Football Hall of Fame President John Bankert with the shoes Adam Vinatieri wore during Super Bowl XXXVIII when he kicked the game-winning field goal for the Patriots with nine seconds remaining in the game.
The shoes were placed on display in the Hall of Fame's Super Bowl Experience exhibit.
