Here are recaps of several games over the years between the Broncos and Chargers.

December 10, 1960 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS 41, Denver 33
Paul Lowe rushed for 115 yards and scored 1 TD and QB Jack Kemp threw 3 TDs to lead the Chargers to victory. The Broncos’ attack included 171 yards receiving on nine catches by Lionel Taylor.

October 20, 1968 – SAN DIEGO 55, Denver 24
QB John Hadl passed for 321 yards and 4 TDs. Tight end Jacque MacKinnon had 6 catches for 172 yards and 2 TDs while Lance Alworth  caught 4 passes for 131 yards and 1 TD. RB Dick Post rushed 11 times for 121 yards and scored one touchdown.

December 9, 1973 – Denver 42, SAN DIEGO 28
Quarterback Charley Johnson completed 15 of 26 passes for 216 yards and had two touchdowns as the Broncos’ win assured the team of its first winning season. RB Floyd Little rushed for 88 yards and added four receptions.

September 27, 1981 – DENVER 42, San Diego 24
Craig Morton completed 17 of 18 passes for 308 yards and threw four TDs. He became the first player since Len Dawson  in 1964 to have four touchdown passes in consecutive games. The Broncos’ Steve Foley contributed by intercepting three passes.

September 22, 1991 – DENVER 27, San Diego 19
Gaston Green rushed for 127 yards and scored three touchdowns, one of which was a 63-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. The Chargers offense was led by Rod Bernstine who gained 103 yards on 18 carries.

December 1, 2002 – SAN DIEGO 30, Denver 27 (OT)
Chargers kicker Steve Christie connected on a 27-yard field goal with just over three minutes remaining in the extra period as the Broncos lost in overtime for the second straight week. RB LaDainian Tomlinson led the charge with 220 yards and 3 TDs. Denver’s Clinton Portis gained 159 yards rushing and scored twice while Ed McCaffrey had 7 receptions for 126 yards.
