Both teams scored five TDs and combined for 896 yards in the highest scoring Monday Night Football game ever up to that point. The Chiefs eliminated Denver from any hopes of a division title despite the 445 yards passing by Broncos’ QB Charley Johnson.

December 18, 1983 – KANSAS CITY 48, Denver 17
Bill Kenney managed to throw a pair of touchdown passes despite a wind chill of 30-below-zero at Arrowhead Stadium. RB Theotis Brown rushed for 2 TDs for the Chiefs while Gerald Willhite scored both of Denver’s touchdowns.
