Peyton Manning Passing Record Ball Arrives at Pro Football Hall of Fame
A football thrown by Peyton Manning this past Sunday, which symbolizes a lifetime of Commitment, Integrity, Courage, Respect, and Excellence, is now on exhibit in Canton.
The football, added to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's permanent collection, is the one that Manning threw to running back Ronnie Hillman in the first quarter of the Denver Broncos’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 15, 2015 to become the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yardage. The completion gave Manning 71,840 career yards to eclipse the mark held by Brett Favre.
Joe Horrigan, the Hall of Fame’s Executive Vice President of Museums, Selection Process & Chief Communications Officer, was on hand at Sports Authority Field at Mile High to retrieve the historic memento. Horrigan was handed the football immediately after the record-breaking moment. Just one day later, the artifact was placed on display in the Hall's Pro Football Today Gallery.
