The Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy in Canton, Ohio launched today featuring a new football curriculum, world class training and technology, and some of the NFL’s top coaches led by Hall of Famer Rod Woodson.
The Academy also launched the Call to The Hall scouting campaign to uncover the nation’s premiere high school and middle school athletes to participate in an invite only, premiere scouting and educational event this summer. Nominations are currently being accepted at www.ProFootballHOFAcademy.com.
Nominate An Athlete
The facility-based training will be held on new fields at the National Football & Youth Sports Complex currently under construction as part of Hall of Fame Village, a $500 million development of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Campus. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy will feature four days of elite athlete training and programming both on the field and off the field. The classroom sessions will feature Axon Sports, the leader in cognitive sports training, that will help athletes improve their reaction and decision making ability. Through CHARACTER GAMEPLANTM, the Muñoz Agency will lead the character development program that will feature football terminology and insights from members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The selected athletes will get the first sneak peak of the word-class training center and work with legendary NFL coaches, elite performance trainers and sport scientists.
The Game Changers Prep Academy and Playmakers Youth Academy Sessions launch the first of many global events that will be held at the Academy as part of the Hall of Fame Village offerings.
The Game Changers Session, to be held July 10-13, 2016, features customized programming, testing and education, and caters to the top 250 high school athletes. The participants will be immersed in 3½ days of training featuring NFL Master Coaches. Highlights of the curriculum include 22 hours of elite athlete training, comprehensive testing, master coaching, and competition. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy’s curriculum has been developed by current and past NFL personnel and experts in youth athletic development.
The Playmakers Session, to be held on July 14-17, 2016, caters to the top 250 middle school athletes and provides the same hours of instruction and all the world-class components as the high school curriculum. It is further customized to fit the needs of developing 7th and 8th grade student athletes.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy is setting the new industry gold standard with the highest caliber of NFL coaching provided to future NFL hopefuls. Woodson, the Hall of Fame defensive back and current assistant defensive backs coach for the Oakland Raiders, is leading the master coaches. In addition to coaching the defensive backs, Woodson will lead breakout sessions on character, respect, leadership and integrity.

The Academy will be led by Richard McGuinness, who created the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and who has trained the nation’s top preps and middle schoolers for over 10 years with elite training programs across the country. McGuinness sold his interest in his previous company to imagine the future of athlete development with the goal of bringing together the nation’s top coaches and most advanced training technology within a facility-based training environment.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy is a key programming component by LEGACY Global Sports, a leader in sporting event and management logistics who has partnered with Hall of Fame Village. In addition to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy, LEGACY Global Sports has begun booking large events and other camps in Canton on the three new fields that will open this summer. The company will stage national and international events at the Hall of Fame Village’s National Football & Youth Sports Complex that is slated to be fully completed in the spring of 2018. The complex will include nine state-of-the-art fields that will be multi-purposed, lighted, and equipped with the latest technology and video capabilities.
