Hall Of Famer Ronnie Lott Joins Forces with Investors To Preserve Raiders’ Home

With talks of the Raiders leaving Oakland for Las Vegas, Commissioner Roger Goodell would rather see members of the Black and Silver work through their stadium difficulties like the Minnesota Vikings, who just opened U.S. Bank Stadium.

According to www.eastbaytimes.com, a group of investors linked to Gold Jacket Ronnie Lott wrote a letter of intent to the city of Oakland and Alameda County, to purchase the Coliseum land in hopes of keeping football alive in the Bay Area.

However, reported by www.profootballtalk.com, the offer was rejected by city officials and they are not planning to move forward with the plan of buying the Coliseum and renovating.

The investment group was purposing $167.3 million for the Coliseum land that includes adjacent Oracle Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors.

Also, a part of the investment group is former NFL quarterback Rodney Pete. Not only is Pete a member of the USC Family, he too played for the Oakland Raiders (2000-2001).

Lott played 14 season in the NFL and was a part of the Raiders family for two seasons (1991-1992) where he totaled nine interceptions for the Black and Silver.
