fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday paid tribute to their franchise’s founder and the only owner they’ve known.
Ralph Wilson, Jr.
, who was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in early August, received his Hall of Fame ring during a ceremony held at halftime of the Bills-Houston Texans game.
Wilson was presented the ring by Pro Football Hall of Fame President/Executive Director Steve Perry before he addressed the crowd.
The Hall of Fame ring is the third of three iconic symbols representing an individual’s enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Wilson received his Hall of Fame gold jacket during the annual Enshrinees Dinner held on the eve of his induction. His bronze bust was unveiled during the enshrinement ceremony. The ring presentation traditionally takes place in an enshrinee’s home stadium to allow for the Hall of Famer to celebrate the honor in front of home fans.
There are only 253 members who’ve been enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Wilson is one of 18 contributors elected and one of eight long-time members of the Buffalo Bills organization to receive pro football’s highest honor.
