A little more than a month ago, Ted Ginn, Jr. of the Miami Dolphins made history when he returned two kickoffs 100 and 101 yards for touchdowns during his team’s win over the New York Jets on Nov. 1, 2009. During the third quarter of that game, Ginn, Jr. became the first player in NFL history to return two kickoffs 100 yards or more in the same game. A few days later the jersey he wore that day arrived in Canton.
On Friday, Dec. 4 Ginn’s father, Ted Ginn, Sr., toured the Hall of Fame and had the opportunity to view firsthand the memorabilia that his son wore while creating history. Ginn, Sr., who is the head football coach at Cleveland Glenville High School, was in Canton to coach his team in the Division I state football championship against Hilliard Davison on Dec. 5.
The proud father coached Ginn Jr. at Glenville before he went on to have an All-America career at Ohio State and become the ninth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Dolphins.
