Warner set a new NFL record for single-game completion percentage during the Cardinals’ 31-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. He completed 24 of 26 passes for a 92.3% completion percentage that broke the previous mark held by Vinny Testaverde (91.3, 21 of 23) of the Cleveland Browns in a game against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 6, 1993.
The jersey is now the fourth one from Warner that’s in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s collection. A Cardinals jersey from last November when he reached the 40,000-yard passing mark, that included his stats in Arena Football, NFL Europe, and the NFL, has been on exhibit. Also, the jersey from his MVP performance with the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV is now on display in the new Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery. Another jersey of Warner’s that is in the Hall’s archives is the one he wore on Oct. 1, 2000 when he became the second quarterback in NFL history to record a perfect passer rating twice in his career. All three of those jerseys were accompanied by footballs from the memorable games.
He began Sunday’s game against Jaguars by completing his first 15 passes which is a new team mark. He also tied the Cardinals record of 15 consecutive pass completions first set by Jake Plummer against the Washington Redskins on Nov. 11, 1998.
Warner’s jersey was promptly placed on exhibit in the Hall of Fame’s Pro Football Today Gallery.
