The New England Patriots rolled to a 26-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. Much credit for the win can be attributed to three of their offensive stars, all of whom rank among the all-time leaders in their respective statistical categories.
Leading the way was veteran running back Fred Taylor who registered his first 100-yard rushing day as a member of the Patriots. The 12-year veteran rushed for 105 yards on 21 carries to pace New England’s offense. Taylor passed Hall of Fame running back John Riggins to move into 15th place on the all-time career rushers chart.
Meanwhile, quarterback Tom Brady threw for 277 yards and had one TD pass to keep hold of his ranking as the NFL’s 5th leading passer based on the passer rating system. New England wide receiver Randy Moss had 10 catches for 116 yards versus the Falcons Sunday to jump past Jimmy Smith into 12th place among the all-time career leader in receptions.
