Phillip Rivers Passes Gold Dan Fouts for Franchise Record

After a huge 21-13 victory over the Denver Broncos during a primetime match-up against the San Diego Chargers, on Thursday night. Veteran signal caller Phillip Rivers surpassed Hall of Famer Dan Fouts on the Chargers all-time passing yardage list.
 
A record that stood for 24 seasons, Fouts broke the record previously held by John Hadl (26,938) against the Los Angeles Raiders, on Jan. 2, 1983 at Jack Murphy Stadium.
 
After 15 seasons with the Chargers, Foust finished his career with 43,040 passing yards, 254 touchdowns, 13 rushing touchdowns and six Pro Bowls appearances.
 
Rivers, who is in his 13th season for the Bolts threw for 178 yards and one touchdown during Thursday’s battle.
 
As an 11th year starter, Rivers is the franchise leader with 43,094 career yards passing.
