The Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers face off this week. Both are led by solid quarterback play. 

Joe Burrow leads the AFC with a passer rating of 101.6 and has the Bengals in prime playoff position. Justin Herbert ranks fourth in the league in passing yards (3,230) and fifth in touchdown passes (24), while the Chargers are also vying for a playoff spot in the AFC.

This week’s game will be the first time the two will meet as opposing starting quarterbacks.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts also have impressed in their second seasons.

ROAD DOMINANCE: The ARIZONA CARDINALS (9-2) enter Week 13 with the league’s best record. In road games this season, Arizona is 6-0 and has outscored its opponents by at least 10 points in each win.

At Soldier Field against Chicago on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX), the Cardinals can become the third team ever to win seven consecutive road games within a single season, each by a least 10 points.

TOP DEFENSES BATTLE IN BUFFALO: The top two teams in the AFC East are set to meet on Monday Night Football, as the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (8-4) travel to play the BUFFALO BILLS (7-4) at Highmark Stadium (8:15 PM ET, ESPN). The Patriots enter the contest with the top scoring defense in the league (15.8 points allowed per game), while the Bills rank second (16.5).

Monday’s game will mark the third matchup in the past 10 seasons featuring the league’s top two scoring defenses in Week 13 or later.

SOPHOMORE QBs SURGING: Cincinnati quarterback JOE BURROW and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback JUSTIN HERBERT each have their teams in playoff position entering Week 13.

Sunday’s game in Cincinnati (1:00 PM ET, CBS) will be the first time the two will meet as opposing starting quarterbacks. In their second seasons, Burrow aims to bring the Bengals to the postseason for the first time since 2015, while Herbert is looking to secure a Chargers playoff berth for the first time since 2018.

The Miami Dolphins, led by quarterback TUA TAGOVAILOA, have won each of their past four games. Tagovailoa, the No. 5 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, has completed over 80 percent of his passes in each of the last two weeks and became the fourth player in NFL history with a completion percentage of 80-or-higher (minimum 30 attempts) in consecutive games.

If he does it against the New York Giants again on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX), Tagovailoa can become the first player ever with a completion percentage of 80-or-higher (min. 30 attempts) in four games within a single season. Tagovailoa’s three career games with a completion percentage of 80-or-higher (min. 30 attempts) are already the most by a player in his first two seasons all-time.

Philadelphia quarterback JALEN HURTS, a second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, leads all quarterbacks with eight rushing touchdowns this season and ranks second at the position with 695 rushing yards.

With at least 50 rushing yards at the New York Jets on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS), Hurts will join LAMAR JACKSON as the only quarterbacks with at least 50 rushing yards in seven-or-more consecutive games in the Super Bowl era. He would also tie KYLER MURRAY (12 games) for the third-most games with at least 50 rushing yards by a quarterback in his first two seasons in the Super Bowl era.
