The Goodyear Silents had an impact for decades.


Sometimes it takes thinking outside the box to create something that leaves an impact for decades to come.

That was the case in 1915, when the Goodyear Silents Athletic Club football team was created.

This team, comprised of hearing-impaired employees of the Goodyear Co. in Akron, Ohio, PERSEVERED through times when they were looked down upon and ended up competing at the highest level in semi-pro football.
