John Stockton Has Football DNA

John Stockton doesn’t have a bust in Canton, but he does have a plaque in Springfield Mass. at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Famer and former Utah Jazz point guard visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame yesterday with his wife and two sons. Stockton was in town to support his other son Michael, who plays for the Canton Charge basketball team. The Charge are currently playing in the first round of the NBA D-League Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Even though Stockton was a basketball player, he actually has football in his DNA. His grandfather Houston played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets, a defunct NFL team. Stockton was able to view a photo of his grandfather in the Hall’s archives during a behind-the-scenes tour.

Stockton was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
