Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village Brings "Smart-City" to Canton

November 18, 2016 marked a historic day for the Pro Football Hall of Fame when Hall of Fame Village, a collaboration of the Hall and Industrial Realty Group, entered into an 18-year agreement to create the first sports and entertainment “smart city” that will carry the name Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village.

Recently, The Canton Repository spent two days visiting Johnson Controls world headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to better understand how the company will transform Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village into a “smart city."

In the first part of a two-part series, The Canton Repository’s staff writer, Alison Matas details the unique partnership between Johnson Controls and the Hall of Fame Village. Matas had the opportunity to learn more how Johnson Controls would use their expertise in the nearly $600 million Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village that will be completed in 2019.
