Latest Artifacts to Arrive at the Hall

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is home to the world’s largest collection on pro football in the world. Each year, the collection grows as artifacts from milestone moments from the current NFL season arrive in Canton. Many of these artifacts are already on display in the Hall’s Pro Football Today Gallery.

Arriving the week of 1/21/19 were game-used artifacts from TEs George Kittle and Zach Ertz.

The Philadelphia Eagles uniform worn by Zach Ertz and the football he caught to break the NFL Record for most receptions (113) by a tight end in a single season arrived at the Hall. Ertz broke the record on a 9-yard reception in the third quarter of the Eagles 32-30 victory over the Houston Texans on Dec. 23, 2018.

The jersey and gloves worn by George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 30, 2018 in Week 17 when he broke the NFL record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a single season (1,377).

Interestingly, Kittle broke a record that had been set earlier that same day. The Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce caught a 25-yard pass in the fourth quarter against the Oakland Raiders to break the mark of 1,327 yards established by Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots in 2011. Kelce’s hold of the record lasted less than an hour when Kittle made his record grab on a 43-yard touchdown pass in the 49ers season finale against the Los Angeles Rams.

Arriving the week of 12/3/18 were game-used artifacts from Steelers WR Antonio Brown.

The Hall of Fame’s curatorial team put on the white gloves to handle the gloves and game ball from Pittsburgh Steelers Antonio Brown from Nov. 25, 2018 against the Denver Broncos when he became the fastest NFL player to 800 career receptions. He reached the milestone in 126 games. Brown surpassed Marvin Harrison’s previous mark of 800 catches in 131 games.

Arriving the week of 11/26/18 were game-used artifacts from Ravens players Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards and Chargers QB Philip Rivers.

The Hall of Fame’s curatorial team put on the white gloves to handle the Baltimore Ravens game ball from Nov. 18, 2018 when Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards became the first pair of rookie quarterback-running back teammates to rush for at least 100 yards each in the same game in NFL history. The football is autographed by Jackson and Edwards.

 

The Los Angeles Chargers shipped the jersey, gloves and ball from the performance by the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers on Sunday, Nov. 25 against the Arizona Cardinals when he threw 25 consecutive completions, the most by a quarterback in a single game in NFL history. Rivers’ 96.6 completion percentage against the Cardinals was highest by a quarterback in a single game in NFL annals.

Arriving the week of 11/19/18 were game-used shoes from Falcons WR Julio Jones.

This week, the Hall of Fame’s curatorial team put on the white gloves to handle the shoes worn by Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Nov. 11 against the Cleveland Browns.

Jones reached 10,000 career receiving yards in 104 games – the fewest in NFL history. The previous record was 115 games set by Calvin Johnson.

Arriving the week of 11/12/18 were game-used artifacts from Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn and Titans WR Corey Davis.

The “Salute to Service” hoodie worn by the Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn on Sunday, Nov. 11 recognizing the NFL’s 2018 “Salute to Service” programming.

 

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis’ jersey, pants and helmet worn on Sunday, Nov. 11 when he had seven receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown in the Titans 34-10 victory over the New England Patriots. The uniform was collected to commemorate and document the Titans new uniform design and colors for the 2018 NFL Season. Whenever a franchise debuts a new uniform design, the Hall seeks to preserve the change by collecting the jersey, pants and helmet worn by a prominent player of that team.

Arriving the week of 10/29/18 were game-used artifacts from kicker Adam Vinatieri, wide receiver Adam Thielen, quarterback Jared Goff and kicker Chandler Catanzaro.

Minnesota Vikings receiver Adam Thielen reached 100 receiving yards against the New Orleans Saints on 10/28/18. It was the 8th consecutive time Thielen reached the century mark and thereby broke Charley Hennigan’s record (7) for most games with at least 100 yards receiving to start a season. Thielen's 100-yard game also tied Calvin Johnson's record for most consecutive games with at least 100 yards receiving at any point in the season.

 

 

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri surpassed MORTEN ANDERSEN (2,544) as the NFL’s all-time leading scorer when he converted a 25-yard field goal with 26 seconds left in the second quarter against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018. The Pro Football Hall of Fame received the football kicked to break the record along with the jersey and shoes worn by Vinatieri. He kicked three more extra points in the game to finish the day with 2,550 career points.

 

The shoes worn by Chandler Catanzaro of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he kicked the longest (59 yards) game-winning field goal in NFL overtime history on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018.

 

The jersey worn by Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 when he threw for a Thursday Night Football record 465 yards. He had the most pass attempts (33) by any quarterback who achieved a single game perfect passer rating.

Arriving the week of 10/22/18 were the game-used jersey of kicker Adam Vinatieri and game-used ball by quarterback Drew Brees.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees became the third quarterback (joining Brett Favre and Peyton Manning) in NFL history to defeat all 32 NFL teams. Also in the game Brees became only the fourth quarterback to throw for at least 500 career touchdown passes joining Peyton Manning (539), Brett Favre (508) and Tom Brady (504).
 

 
Indianapolis Colts K Adam Vinatieri broke the NFL record for most field goals in a career. His 42-yard field goal in the second quarter against the Houston Texans was the 566th of his career, breaking the previous record held by Gold Jacket Morten Andersen.
 

Arriving the week of 10/15/18 was the game-used jersey of wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry made history when he established the new mark for most receptions by a player in his first five seasons. He accomplished the feat in the Browns’ 12-9 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens when he increased his career total to 431 catches thereby eclipsing the record held by the Arizona Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald (426).

 

Arriving the week of 10/8/18 was the game-used jersey and football of quarterback Drew Brees.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees became the NFL all-time leader in career passing yards (72,103 yards) when he passed Peyton Manning (71,940 yards). This feat was completed in Week 5 in the Saints' Monday Night Football victory over the Washington Redskins.
 

Arriving the week of 10/1/18 were the game-used jerseys of quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Patrick Mahomes.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Ryan Fitzpatrick became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 400 yards in three consecutive games. This feat was completed in Week 3 in the Buccaneers' Monday Night Football game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

 

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes became the first QB in NFL history to throw 10 touchdown passes through his team's first two games of a season. This feat was completed in the Chiefs' game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers during Week 2.

Arriving the week of 9/24/18 was the game-used ball of Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

The football thrown by Drew Brees for his record-setting 6,301st career completion arrived at the Hall of Fame just two days after the New Orleans Saints quarterback established the milestone against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3.

 

Arriving the week of 9/17/18 were the game-used jersey of Dolphins running back Frank Gore and the game-used cleats of Redskins running back Adrian Peterson.

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore surpassed Hall of Famer Curtis Martin to move into 4th place on the Career Rushing Yards list. This feat was completed in the Dolphins' game vs. the New York Jets during Week 2.

The shoes worn by Adrian Peterson in Week 1 when the Washington Redskins took on the Arizona Cardinals. The veteran running back scored his 100th career touchdown and also surpassed Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and Jim Brown on the NFL’s all-time rushing list.
