Chasing a Record
Eric Johnson of the San Francisco 49ers is on pace to set the NFL record for catches in a season by a tight end.
The fourth-year player from Yale has hauled in 51 receptions for 547 yards in eight games this season. As such, he is on pace for 102 catches and 1,094 yards that would surpass the NFL mark held by Ben Coates (left) who had 96 receptions in 1994 for the New England Patriots .
