1972 Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins cemented their place in the annals of the NFL by becoming the the first team to finish a season unbeaten and untied. This remarkable feat in 1972 has stood the test of time as the mark has never been matched. In 2007, the New England Patriots went through the regular season unscathed only to have their perfect season upended by the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII.
Visitors to the Hall of Fame can see a display commemorating the Dolphins perfect season in the Exhibition Rotunda.
