Autographed football added to collection
Days after Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2009, the museum’s curator received a phone call from a fan in Fair Oaks, California.
Jurgen Reinhold called the Hall of Fame to share that he was interested in donating a football once signed by Thomas at the Pro Bowl. Reinhold is a big fan of the NFL’s All-Star game and recalls how he purchased the game-used football from the 1994 Pro Bowl and then had it signed by Thomas.
Thomas was named to nine Pro Bowls during his career. In the 1994 game, he started at left outside linebacker for the AFC squad. He recorded five tackles and sacked NFC quarterback Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers once for an 11-yard loss.
