Brees is second to pass for 5,000
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees became the second player ever to pass for 5,000 yards in a season. The Saints QB fell 16 yards shy of the long-standing single-season mark owned by Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino.
Brees finished the 2008 season with 5,069 yards which marked the third straight season that he passed for more than 4,400 yards. Brees also threw a career-high 34 touchdowns in '08.
