Kickoff of Cardinals Stadium preserved at HOF

The football used for the opening kickoff of Sunday's regular season debut of the spectacular Cardinals Stadium has arrived at the Hall of Fame.

The Arizona Cardinals opened the season in the new $455 million dollar stadium on Sunday with a 34-27 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The game marked the first season opener at home for the Cardinals since moving to Arizona in 1988.

The historic football that the team donated is just one of several artifacts that the Cardinals have furnished to the Hall of Fame in recent seasons. A sampling of other memorabilia related to the Cardinals in the Hall's collection includes the shoes worn by kicker Neil Rackers in 2005 when he set the record for field goals in a season; the jersey of quarterback Josh McCown from October 2, 2005 during the NFL's first-ever regular season game played in Mexico; and a special pin created for the 2004 NFL Draft honoring the late Pat Tillman.

HOF and Freedom Center partner on new exhibit

The Pro Football Hall of Fame and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center have joined forces to create an exhibit, <i>Breaking Through: The Reintegration of Pro Football</i>.
