The program cover from the AFL’s first championship game. The Houston Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 24-16 at Jeppesen Stadium in Houston. A hometown crowd of 32,183 watched the Oilers crowned as the new league’s first champions on Jan. 1, 1961.
