Pro Football Hall of Fame Appoints Stephen Harold Schott to Board of Trustees

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Trustees has added Stephen Harold Schott as a new trustee, Board Chairman Tom Schervish announced. “We are pleased to be able to add someone with Steve’s experiences and background to the Hall of Fame’s Board of Trustees,” stated Schervish. “His extensive background in business, sports and community will all serve as valuable assets to the Hall of Fame and its Board of Trustees.”

Schott, the Managing Principal of CapTrust Financial Advisors, the largest institutional investment consulting firm with headquarters in Florida, has more than 27 years of experience in consulting to Endowments, Foundations, Insurance and Public Pensions. Before establishing Schott Group Investment Consulting, he started on Wall Street during the 1980s at Drexel Burnham Lambert. While continuing his consulting career, Schott relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he became the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the World Champion Cincinnati Reds from 1988-1991, overseeing operations and all aspects of team management. He currently is a member of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Orange Bowl Committee.

Schott is a graduate of Denison University with additional studies in business and finance at Warnborough College in Oxford, England. More recently, he completed an executive program on Behavioral Finance at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

A member of several national boards, Schott also serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Schott Memorial Foundation, as a Trustee of the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., a member of the Investment Committee of the National Catholic Relief Services in Baltimore, Maryland, and Sacred Heart Seminary Foundation in Detroit, Michigan, and a board member of the Greater Cleveland Muny Football League.

Schott has recently joined the Board of Directors of the SET SEG Educational Foundation serving public schools in Michigan, and has also served terms on the Board of Northern Michigan Hospital Foundation, the Board of the Ohio Sports and Law Commission, two-terms on St. Thomas University and Law School in Miami, Florida, and the Board of the National Catholic Office for Persons with Disabilities. In recognition of his commitment to professional excellence and contributions to the community, Schott was selected as one of Cincinnati’s outstanding Forty under 40 by the Cincinnati Business Courier in 1996.
