Hall of Fame presented with letter of Commendation

{GALLERY}The Pro Football Hall of Fame was the recipient of a Letter of Commendation from Ohio Governor John R. Kasich last evening during a reception at the Ohio Statehouse attended by elected officials and staff of the Ohio General Assembly and Governor Kasich’s office.  The letter was presented to the Pro Football Hall of Fame by Budget Director Tim Keen on behalf of the Governor who was unable to attend due to a late change to his schedule.  In his letter, Governor Kasich stated that “Ohio is honored to be the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” and acknowledged that it is “widely regarded as America’s premier sports museum and showplace and as one of Ohio’s best known tourist destinations.” 

The Governor went on to extend his best wishes for the future success of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and encouraged sports fans everywhere “to visit this fantastic institution which serves as a monument to the contributions professional football has brought to the fabric of American life.”

In accepting the Letter of Commendation, Hall of Fame President-Executive Director, Steve Perry thanked Governor Kasich and members of the Ohio General Assembly for their support and recognition of the Hall of Fame’s impact on Ohio’s economy and quality of life for Ohio’s citizens.  Perry also shared with the many legislators in attendance some of the highlights of pro football’s storied Ohio heritage and encouraged them and the general public to visit the specially created exhibit highlighting pro football’s Ohio roots that will be on display in the State House Map Room during the month of April.
