LEE GREENWOOD TO HEADLINE HALFTIME CELEBRATION AT NFL/HALL OF FAME GAME

Country music icon Lee Greenwood will highlight a spectacular halftime show titled “Salute to Service” at the 2016 NFL/Hall of Fame Game. The celebration will also include all five military branches as part of the enhanced halftime of the preseason classic featuring the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016.
 
Each of the five military branches will be represented by a group of 25 individuals outfitted in their “dress uniforms” and will march in formation as Greenwood performs his salute to the military, “The Defenders.” The show will conclude with his dramatic and emotional hit “God Bless the USA” that will be aired by ESPN who is broadcasting the NFL opener. The song was voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America.
 
Greenwood, who has more than 30 albums to his credit, will also participate in the pre-game. The Los Angeles native has seven #1 songs and 25 charted singles. His CD “American Patriot” that was recorded and released in 1992 went Platinum in just three months. Numerous industry awards have been bestowed on Greenwood including “Vocalist of the Year” recognition for the Academy of Country Music, and the Country Music Association, and a Grammy for Top Male Vocal Performance.
